staple soup

Putting together some Pho, a staple of ours.

Today it snowed in the middle of the day, big huge snowflakes. It was gorgeous but I didn't have a camera. Through my window at work I enjoyed watching the people who unexpectedly found themselves in the snow. The lady walking with her pram and big dog, the man riding his bicycle, the eldery person zipping around on their gopher. When they left home I don't think they were prepared for snow, but noone seemed to mind.

Edit:
It is snowing again tonight, yipee.

mind your spacing, don't forget the suckers

Eb thought he was working cellar door this weekend and I was tagging along. When we arrived someone else was already doing it. Nicely it has left our weekend unexpectedly free. We went to lunch and wandered. Tonight we have a date with Cadel Evans, homemade prawn-wonton soup and some profiteroles, (after all it is the Tour De France).

The clouds at the vineyard were being their spectacular looming selves this morning. They were truly beautiful against the brown, dormant vines.
I think it is cute the vineyard crew write their names on the end posts so everyone knows where they are.

snow that settles

It was worth being woken up before the alarm this morning. He told me there was snow everywhere. I know in the northern hemisphere this is not so special, but I am sure my fellow Australians can appreciate that it barley ever snows at your home. And today, it did.

fogged on the weekend

We had a splendid weekend, our gorgeous friends were here to visit. A lot of walking was done and the new tea-house, (and their beef tea), proved a steamy harbour from the cold.

On Sunday morning we wanted to take the Czech contingent up the mountain for a view over the bush, however up there we were in the thick of the freezing fog and couldn't see a thing . Instead of driving up with us, O ran the 2o kms from our house to the top of the mountain. That is him arriving in the last photo, how is he still standing?

Come back lovelies, we miss you already.

beach.house

One of the good reasons for being blog-absent was that eb and i had a weeks holiday. Most of it we spent at the special place above. It was overcast and rainy until the day we left, but I can never decide if it is more enticing with sunshine or moody weather?

A nice execution of a provoking idea in this LucyandBart project. Found via Notcot, via Krissy.

out the window this morning

An advantage of living in the country is the changing weather seeming so dramatic. It thrills me.
