This is a common scene on the floor by the end of daytime. Banana skin in glass from breakfast, apple core in glass from when I come home to eat lunch, and extra glass because i like to waste them. I really should pick up after myself as I go, not leave it until evening.

yeah, our front room is the same at the end of the day... my hubby NEVER takes his cups out so there'll be at least three cups greeting me the following morning. oh, and a pair of discarded socks. always.
See it's OK if you have to pick up after yourself. If you were expecting someone else to do the job, then that's not OK. Can you tell I live with teenagers?
That's pretty much the scene all around our place too.

Well, with two little kids in the house all day, I can tell you this scene looks positively zen-like to me! My common scene by the end of the days is...sultanas between the cushions on the couch, strawberry tops hiding on a tiny seat in a doll's house, and vegemite sandwich crusts shoved into the cabin of a lego Thomas train....ahhhh, but as you say, at least they are eating healthily :)
