but you don't have absorbent paws
Once a year I get a new boyfriend. He changes from "curls get girls" to skinhead.
I love them both, and don't have a favourite.
Unfortunately they both like to stand at the fridge constantly pigging out. (Look, the plush eggs are scared, this one looks tough).
Whilst waiting for our coffee this morning I cam across some pics of Louise Weavers current exhibition in the paper. So vibrant and textural and amazing. Click our her past exhibits too. I would like this piece in my house.
Happy weekend.

never turn down a cheap tomato
The grocer had these delicious looking tomatoes on special. We have been waiting for this day for a few weeks now... it's gazpacho time.
What are you having for dinner?
Completely unrelated, a knitted animation? See Les peaux de lièvres, a video clip for Montreal band Tricot Machine. Frames are machine knitted.
A combination of the gods.

wrapped in a hankie
Once upon a time I ordered a copy of Sonja Ahler's Fatal Distraction, and to my delight it arrived today. Very exciting when you forget you have ordered something and it arrives as a surprise in the mail.
Last year I bought her previous book, Temper Temper for a friend but it never made it out of my hands because I thought it was too brilliant. Pages that were crass and witty but accompanied by cute drawings, such personality.
Fatal Distraction came packaged so prettily.
I look forward to sitting down with a cup of tea tomorrow afternoon reading it.
P.S She has some amazing bunnies in her etsy store at the moment.

when all else fails knit
Weekdays are making me sad at the moment, knitting squares a small comfort.
Trivial to complain when other's lives have really been shaken or even lost. I was listening to some audio clips on the smh website this morning. Serious stuff. One man and his neighbours had survived a blaze but due to the amount of destruction and rubble they couldn't get to help, and help couldn't get to them. Imagine surviving what you think is the worst, and then realising that actually the waiting might get you?
The Kaotic Kraft Kuties Bushfire fundraiser is a raffle to win loot by some great artists. Check it out and buy a ticket.

characters series
The winery where Eb works has released a new series of wine called the Characters Series. Artwork for the labels were done by some pretty spunky artists:
(I have wanted to spill the beans on this for ages, as it is a very exciting collaboration to me).

tada's revolution
An amigurumi creature watching another on the toilet? (He is also packing heat). Genius all accredited to Susan of Tada's Revolution, a ' stuffed animal engineer' who takes these fantastic photographs of her creations. I just adore them, check out more of her photos here, or her blog linked above. Be prepared to say wow.

jan
January actually seemed to be about 6 weeks long this year but I'm glad as it was filled with weekends away with friends, or they visiting us, beaches and great live music in Tegan and Sara and Leonard Cohen.
I hope you all had a wonderful, although very hot for some, January too, and that February follows in its footsteps.
fourth image, fourth folder
The talented Debi van Zyl tagged me to post the fourth picture from the fourth folder of images on my computer. The fourth folder of images is actually a folder full of work by Fafi, as I went through a stage where I fafinised my desktop and mobile phone. This cute faffinette and Hmilo are actually part of my desktop background currently. The coquettish cuteness is rather appealing don't you think?
I tag knitxcore and outi.
