Wasp Nests? On MY Porch?

No not the wasp. It is wasp nests that I have an irrational aversion to. Those chambers, disgusting.

Although I do get the fear of wasps, but maybe not their actual nests :)
Ok, once you get the empty nest down (when you find one...right?!??) you can send it to me. I find them fascinating, but only worry that a resident may come back and sting the sh*t out of me.
I must admit, I wouldn't have thought I'd have a problem with such a thing, but I found my daughter playing with something the other day, and when she came and handed it to me it was an old wasp nest, just like the one in this pic, but a bit bigger. And even though I knew it was harmless I hurled it away so quick. It really made me shudder....so yeah, I can kinda understand where you're coming from...
Even the photo gives me the creeps!
Is it because something could jump out of those chambers at any moment? We have a few around here, and I'm always careful to pass them quietly so I don't wake up anything sleeping inside.

yep - especially if it's filled with baby wasps that look like maggots!
I agree. I'm allergic to bees but I would rather be stung by one of them than a wasp - so painful!
I can relate to this one. I had a wasp nest in my ceiling at my mums house. It freaked me out!
I hate wasps too. they're evil!
